Dave Baumhart is the immediate past Director of the Michigan Court of Appeals Settlement Office, which provided alternate dispute resolution/facilitative mediation services to litigants in civil matters on appeal. Dave is an attorney and member of the State Bar of Michigan since 1970 and has the experience to mediate and arbitrate complex litigation matters at all stages of your case.

At the Court of Appeals, he conducted mediations in a wide range of civil appeals including employment, commercial/business, contract, negligence, medical/legal malpractice, 1st party /3rd party no-fault, real estate, property disputes, insurance, probate/estate disputes, product liability, worker’s compensation, Tax Tribunal matters, health care, and intellectual property matters.

He has achieved settlements ranging from dismissals of cases to settlements ranging from a few hundred or a few thousand dollars, to hundreds of thousands or multi-million dollar resolutions, as well as creative resolutions including contributions to charitable organizations and other innovative outcomes.
